Mission Statement
Spike Camp
Outpost
Spike Camp Outpost was built on wildland fire culture. The work ethic of the fireline, the kind that does not cut corners and does not quit, is the standard every product meets before it leaves our hands.
We use full-grain leather. We never sell Genuine Leather. Every hide is hand selected and hand cut in Post Falls, Idaho. Every piece is saddle stitched with fire-resistant thread or Ritza waxed thread. We condition our leather exclusively with Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP before it ships.
The leather is chosen for its ability to absorb hard use and build a dark, earned patina over seasons of work. It does not look broken in. It gets broken in.
We do not source cheap hardware. We do not rush the stitch. We do not ship a product that is not right. It does not leave our bench unless it meets the standards shaped by decades of working the backcountry. We do not forgive sloppy gear.
Every bag of Spike Camp coffee is ethically sourced, Fair Trade certified, and roasted in small batches in Sandpoint, Idaho. USDA Organic. The same standard that goes into the leather goes into the roast. Nothing in the lineup exists because it was easy to source.
Every Spike Camp leather piece is handmade in Post Falls, Idaho. Not assembled offshore and finished here. Built here, start to finish, by hand. We source our leather hides exclusively from within the United States.
